So he says Lyme is negative. I informed him that my neck had been stiff for weeks. A couple of Fridays ago, work had stressed me out so badly that my neck pain got intense, went in to my shoulders and down my arms. My doctor has been hellbent on a Fibromyalgia dx, so to prove something to me, he pushed his fingers into my neck and that sent out the worst pain I have felt in a very long time. Basically got an, "I told you so," and a 2-week Titration pack of Savella (I've stopped drinking coffee or having any caffeine, so unlike my go at the Cymbalta, this has been easier on my heart) and sent me on my way until a couple of weeks from now. The day after the appointment, I was in such bad shape that I almost had to call out of work. Turning my head was impossible, my shoulders ached, my arms were weak, and it went all the way in to my hands and fingers (also some leg and foot pain, but not nearly as bad as the rest). The Savella has actually helped, taking my pain from about a 9 to a 4-5.
I've never researched Fibro until recently, and I know it differs for a lot of people. I have a major gluten intolerance, which I know can play in to that, too. I'm just wondering if this dx is legit or did he give up too soon? Either way, anything to alleviate some of this pain is helpful.
