I have never had these. I had never even heard of them till now, but they sound yummy!

I am wondering .... do you think it would "work" without the sugar? I think I'd probably prefer an unsweetened, lightly salted variant, but I don't know if that would turn out properly. Is some sugar is needed to help the eggs absorb the juice? Thoughts?
