Courtney, I know exactly how busy holidays can be as a mom, a wife, and trying to organize things to please others. I fell down a flight of stairs and ended up with a serious concussion the end of October.
I have a great neurologist helping me and he called me a week before Christmas and warned me to do as little as possible and not be overexcited or overstimulated and get plenty of rest.
As hard as it is to imagine, Christmas will come again next year even If this year isn't exactly perfect. My tree this year is a potted palm tree that my husband and son just threw lights on. The Christmas dinner was a potluck with others bringing food.
My best advice is earplugs to muffle the sound and try to take it easy by only having guests stay a couple hours at best. My family understands that noise and light and too many conversations confuse me. People will understand, those you love will understand. Give yourself a moment and give yourself permission to just let it be and do what you can and let others do what they can for you. Peace and Joy.
