During the holidays I eat more sugar than normal as well. I too am feeling it.
Also realize that most of the weight gain during the holidays, from my experience, is due to water retention. Eating more sugar/simple carbs causes the body to retain more water.
Within a week of getting off of the sugars and back to my normal routine my weight goes back down to normal.
