From a technical standpoint, dual boot is really no big deal. Any tech should have the ability to do that for you. I have almost always had multiple operating systems on the same machine. The question is whether you want that, and whether you can find a tech at work willing to do it for you.

If you do want Win 7 on your machine... in addition to 8... try asking IT. I'm sure they still the Win 7 discs. It may be against policy, so it would help if you... ehh... "know" someone in IT whom you can ask... unofficially. You could ask them to make win 7 your default boot, too.
