I'm only 2 months into this whole process so I'm a newbie. I was also having constant headaches---all day, every day. My reg. dr. put me on Amitriptyline 25 mg and told me it was good for chronic pain sufferers.

It was helping because I was getting relief from the headaches. There were times during the day that I didn't have a headache at all. But, I was still having severe headaches about 3-4 times a week.

I just saw the neurologist for the first time and he upped my dosage to 50 mg and also gave me Fioricet to take as soon as a headache starts. I've only been on the changed meds for 3 days but so far no real headaches, just twinges or sharp pains that go away after a few seconds. It's been a welcome change!
