My wife of 33 years has recently been diagnosed with SPS or Stiff Limb Syndrome. IN a matter of weeks she went from an active woman who lived on a farm and cared and rode 10 horses to basically living in a recliner.
She has gotten some relief from IVIG and bachlafan, but has just been diagnosed with hepatacellular carcinoma (liver tumor that is cancerous).
The nueroligist says it is the wrong kind of cancer to be associated with SPS which leaves me confused. He says he knows of one other patient who had stiff limb syndrome and this type of cancer. When the liver was resectioned and the cancer removed, the stiff limb syndrome disappeared.
He is a prominent neurologist and told us they never figured this out or what the patient actually had. DOes anyone here have any information on this please.
Thank you for your help.
