My smile for the day
We have an older dog. I recently bought a set of steps to help her get onto and off the sofa without having to jump. We set them up this weekend. She was a bit suspicious at first but she is greedy, so we got over that easily enough. Well, we have two sofas. She went over to the one my husband was sitting on and pawed at it. She then went over to the steps, which were sitting next to the other sofa, and pawed at the steps. Then she went back to the first sofa, the one she wanted to sit on and pawed that again. She finished off by giving my husband a look (demand stare, maybe?). I don't think she could have been more clear about what she wanted. She is just so adorable and I love her to bits! She always makes me smile.

That's a great story!! Funny! I have a funny one too. We have two tiny Japanese Chin dogs (Yin & Yang) and a German Shepherd / Husky named Alpha. We have a backdoor that has a screen door that has a doggie door in it. It's been cold, so I had let them outside for a bit and only left the backdoor slightly cracked to try and keep the cold out but leave enough room for them to push their way in. A gentle push is all that was needed to fully open the backdoor and come inside.
The Chin dogs were back inside in no time. They're tiny and don't like the cold. Then Alpha dog pokes his head through the doggie door flap, which has a magnetic strip on the bottom of the flap so it's now sticking up/open to the backdoor which is metal. The backdoor is open enough that with the flap stuck up/open from the doggie door I can CLEARLY see his face looking at me in the kitchen while doing a few dishes, and he's whining, as if to say please open the door more and I'll come in. All I could do was laugh! Here's this BIG Alpha dog (in every sense) who won't give a little nudge of the door to come on in. The Chins had no problem with it. But no, no, no ... you come open this all the way up for me. It was silly.
