Not sure where to start but I'll start out saying I have changed dramatically over the past couple of years and it's really hard to live with the issues I am facing.
Going back through childhood, grew up as a normal kid, fulfilled life and had a lot of fun. Coming towards the end of high school ( i am 19 now) things started to change and I lost the person who I used to be.
My current symptoms on my everyday basis are:
Depression
Derealization; Depersonalization episodes from time to time, quite often
Anxiety
Anhedonia
Tiredness ALWAYS
Disrodered thinking, thinking in unusual ways and perceiving things very unusually
Distorted/unusual view of reality
Insomnia and OCD (rumination on thoughts and in my mind for hours when trying to fall asleep)
I have been feeling this way for I would say about 2 years. I am living in a very strange and frightening world that anyone can only imagine to see in a nightmare.
What brought me to this community was my research on myoclonic jerks.
I was laying in bed, closed my eyes and tensed up my abdominal area and a giant rush through my head is what I felt as well as the body sense of "falling" and it almost felt like an orgasm through the whole body is how I would describe it. An absolutely severe and intense body sensation that caused me to do very severe myoclonic spasms in my abdominal region for a second or so and then I give up because it is frightening. Whenever I try to relax with my eyes closed I will jerk/spasm uncontrollably mainly in the abdominal area.
I am having a hard time coping with what is going on and why.
My question would be is there any type of testing I can do at a hospital or anywhere to see if I have some type of neurological issue that hasn't became a problem in my life until recently?
I am currently on Lexapro-2 weeks in (10mg) and Trazadone to help me fall asleep.
Thank you for your time and PMs are recommended if any further personal details need to be announced.

First off all, my condolences I have been fighting this for exact thing for a month and a half, and I can not imagine having it for 2 yrs straight. One thing I would suggest is a sleep study, although I will share my experience with mine to give you a full disclousre. -
Hooked up to EEG (monitors the brain activity), but sleep tech told me that I did not have sleep apnea, and that there was nothing wrong even though I am CLEARLY jerking awake. Then talked to a "technologist specialist" that explained that the EEG they did was 'at a lesser frequency, with less channels, and less speed than in a neurological setting.' Very frustrating, as I wanted to know if my sleep problem was neurologically based. In ANY CASE , I have heard that some sleep studies may help to see the cause of the jerks. Also, I have an appointment with them in 10 days, so I will keep you posted with what I find out.
If it isn't too much of a favor to ask, I was hoping if you could check out a youtube video that i made that show my symptoms to see if they are as severe as yours.

Lastly, I do not endorse, not advise using medication without consulting a doctor first, but I have read that clonopen helps out with this exact type of problem, but that you can build a resistance and that it loses it effetiveness over time.
In any case, best of luck, I do know exactly the hell that this but as everyone has told me - hang in there everything happens for a reason and keep pushing b/c you'll get the answers your looking for soon
