I've had red fingertips for about a year, following a drug induced lupus attack.

My doctor thought the red finger tips were a serious sign.

I think that most of the causes are potentially serious and should be brought to the doctor's attention.

Mine are red all the time, and not due to Raynaud's syndrome.
If yours blanche and then turn red later, that is raynaud's and there are many many causes of that.
