Um... not sure if I agree with your math there. 300% of zero is still zero. It'd work with ONE degree though, in both F AND C!

Math aside, that kind of change is better/best calculated from Kelvin (which is absolute). Zero degrees F is ~255 degrees Kelvin. 3 degrees F is ~257 degrees K, for an increase of 257/255 = ~0.8% (0.0078431372549019607843137254902)
