Illpn.
Yes, I can tell you, this is how it is, and it could get worse. What you are describing is what I have in a way.
Do you have a real diagnosis yet? Do you know the underlying cause for the neuropathy?
Did you have the bloodtests for the neuropathy panel usually ordered?
For me, It started out 2 years ago with fine vibration all over body , especially in the evening and at night. Then slowly over a few months, the symptoms went to intense burning. The burning is now basically all over the body, feet, hands, fore arms, back , face nose and scalp. To describe the burning I would say it feels the way one might feel if one has an open sore somewhere on the skin surface, and then salt is being pored in to it, or perhaps like Hydroperoxide ( what you use for cleaning open wounds)
This is the symptoms og Small Fiber Neuropathy.
I take Amitripthylline, Lyrica for the nerve pain, plus a compound prescription cream made out of Ketamine 10 %, Lidocaine 10 % and Gabapentin 5 %. The cream is effective, I use it 3 times daily. But the meds overall is not always holding the pain away. The neuropathy flares up more sometimes.
I hope you will get some answers to your diagnostic questions soon. And I hope you get some good treatment. I hope also, that you have a real good doctor, a good neuromuscular neurologist specializing in neuropathy.
