A vitamin D deficiency can be a problem. Getting your D levels up should help you. I am surprised you are not taking 5,000 mgs twice a day rather than a 50,000 once a week.
You also want to be taking calcium, magnesium, and potassium to help with absorption.
Did he test your B-12 and folate levels ?
