How old are you? Tourette Syndrome usually manifests in childhood. And usually involves motor and vocal tics, present for at least a year before a formal diagnosis is generally given. Most often there are tics or TS in the family history.

There are other issues that can also cause the symptoms that you are exhibiting so it's good that you are seeing a neurologist as they really are the ones who would be best at determining what is going on.

You mention that you have OCD and so it is very possible that this may be linked to the symptoms if you are worrying obsessively about it all.

I think the doctors are wise to not just write a prescription for medication when it is not yet certain what is causing your symptoms
Some of the meds can have very severe side effects so best let them first figure what is going on before giving you medications.
