I agree with the OP that this may be a good alternative for those who can't tolerate many medications by mouth. However, I'm sure these drugs still enter the blood stream so I doubt your organs get a substantial "break".

If anyone is interested in a non pharmaceutical analgesic cream, I have recently been using SoreNoMore. This is by far the best analgesic cream I have used (I previously had been using Biofreeze). I was given some samples of SoreNoMore by a new pain therapist I am seeing (I still have chronic cervicogenic pain, even though my TOS symptoms are gone). I rub on my sore neck and shoulders before bed.
