I am sorry you are struggling so much! I had two SCS's (cervical & thoracic) implanted in June 2011 and just had them removed in January 2014. Five months after initial implant, I had a revision on the thoracic SCS leads (swapped out for paddle leads) and that battery moved from the butt/hip to my front/side (near my ribcage). I think the recovery time they told me was the typical 6-8 weeks, but the abdominal area is looser and has softer tissue which makes it more sensitive...it takes a little longer to heal. It felt better when the battery was moved, but then I had issues later on...it got twisted and hurt. I had it all removed because that battery pain and my thoracic paddles leads migrated. The effectiveness wore off and they could not get the stimulation to reach my feet. I was having more pain in the front surgical area when they removed that battery, it hurt a lot more than the other three incisions. The dr told me to give it several months because of the looser, softer tissue there vs. the back, and where the battery pocket was located. If you are having issues and increased pain, you need to let your dr know.
There are many people on NT who have had success with SCS's for much longer than three years, so don't let that discourage you. A revision is not failure, things happen and our bodies change (especially with RSD/CRPS). If I had to go back in time, I would do it all over again. They helped me to work another year and a half...I was losing use of my hands prior to implantation. The constant stimulation helped with desensitization, coloring and got my frozen shoulder moving.
I hope you will improve soon and that you can get some relief iin your right foot!
