If your doctor is prescribing a low dose of Gabapentin to start with that may help you as long as it doesn't interfere with the other meds you are already taking. The Gabapentin does have a good track record with many people in tempering the exaggerated pain signals the brain sends which could be the cause of your pain.
In time if successful you can raise your dosage to alleviate the pain even more. Some people are able to handle high dosages of Gabapentin,I take 3,000 mg a day while others can't ( too drowsy,unclear thinking,...etc.)
