crocs are ok, but oww! the bottoms have a bumpy surface and they hurt your crps feet if u have sensitivity. the off brands are usually better.
i second what buckwheat says-- clarks clogs are very nice, and worth the price. i am miss cheap too, but i think u will be pleased with them.
