Hi Renee,

I had this surgery last year and was freaked out at times too. This surgery upsets the balance of the GI tract as bile is no longer stored in the gallbladder and is dumped into small intestine instead. It took me a few months to tune the system, and I too had reflux issues..burning under the breastbone.. burning back of throat. Fortunately for me my back up plan worked-
licorice(in a tablet) and aloe juice 3x a day, if that doesn't work then I add gaviscon (OTC) and eventually go to my pharmaceutical sucralfate. Of course you must be checked out by a doc to be sure there isn't an ulcer or other issue, but try not worry too much! You just had surgery, your body is in pain and need of rest... Please focus on the healing energy. I will pray with you for your complete recovery, and I'm grateful your gallstones are gone.

May you be well much more quickly than anticipated,

Hana
