If your neck is injured, you should be icing it before and after any treatments plus on a regular schedule as possible. Reducing inflammation is key to allowing your neck to heal. You also need to adopt disciplined posture behaviors to reduce any stresses. It takes a few months of disciplined care for the ligaments to heal and tighten so they properly support and align your vertebra.
Some chiros are too aggressive. They may aggravate the injury as much as they help it. A gentle approach is usually best.
