Oh Sal, what a drag. Can you handle the tub at all or do you have or know someone with a big tub? Sometimes when the pain is unrelenting, I get in a soak of tepid water and try to take the gravity off my body. It does help me.
I hate vicoden too, so I'm not a pusher (of that). Sorry you're suffering, it's just no good.
