Then NYC is not the place for you to live in. Strongly suggest that you do some research for cities in the US that has reasonable rent. In some states like N.J. the disabled are grouped w/the seniors for priority when it comes to affordable housing.
I do not live in NYC but live close enough to visit relatives & friends who do live there.
