It does depend on the doctor administering your test. Some can shove the dye in carelessly, others like mine are gentle.
My discogram was a breeze personally. Nothing like what i was expecting.
Slightly sore after.

YES! I am a veteran of back pain and spine surgery. My discogram was brutal. You do have to be awake though they give you a litttle something to relax you when they prod inside your spine. No fun.
