Having had chemotherapy, I was diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy affecting my feet. I was put on Gabapentin for awhile. Then the doctor changed me to Lyrica. First it was 125 mg 2x daily for several months, then it was 150 mg 2x daily for several months. Last summer the Lyrica dosage went to 150 mg 2x, 75 mg 1x daily. I guess I have just come to the point that I have accepted the pain. Last year, the dosage was changed to 225 mg 2x, 75 1x daily. A month ago, I was told to stop taking my usual dosage and given 7 pills, 150 mg each and told to take one pill a day for seven days and then no more. I was told nothing about withdrawal. I am so wiped out. Dizzy, unclear, headaches, pain all over my body, shaking, feeling like something is crawling under my skin, weak feeling, not hungry, and the anxiety is horrible. I called the doctor and was told it would only last a week. Overall I was on the medications for about 4 years. I have never seen a neurologist, only a GP. I have no insurance.
I want to know if anything can be done for this and is this normal and how much longer do I have to put up with this?
Any comments/suggestions are appreciated.
