Default My beautiful morning.....

I cannot see outside from my normal perch in the house so I am sitting on the porch this morning and I have to admit.......it is a beautiful view.

Roses are all in bloom......red ones, yellow ones, the orange and pink combos and the smell is heavenly.....grass needing to be cut and weeding needing to be done....I can see and hear the water splattering from the fountain in our new pond......flowers abound around the water world as per my plan......

But I must admit the greatest sight of them all.....
I am falling in love with a whole new world I had never really slowed down long enough to notice. No, I don't mean just my front yard....but the amazing world of the feathered friends I have in my front yard. I added bird feeders to my yard this spring and as I sit here with the sun peeking over the tree tops just softly starting to kiss the roof top of my MIL's house only a few hundred yards away, I see the life of the flying creatures in full motion.

Directly in front of me is an old run down Satelite dish. You know the kind, the huge round mesh metal ones with the cone in the front? Well after many years of weather abuse the cone is decrepit and holes abound. But this is home to many a baby blue birds. The second batch of the spring are in there now. Mom and dad are at work caring and protecting for their young. Mom flies away and flitters about looking for food for her babies, while poppa sits high on the top of the dish and watches guard. flying down in sweet gentle motions and peeking inside. Tiny voices begin to sing as they see his face appear. as if they are saying " Hi daddy" "come play with us" ......but then two hefty black birds land on the rooftop. Dad is alarmed and flies back to the top of the dish. Then darting and squealing very quickly towards the intruding black birds. They all three fly away...chasing and darting and squawking . The black birds are gone. Daddy did his job. He returns to the his perch and fluffs his feathers. Babies are safe and he awaits for his mates return.

The yellow finches are crazy after the thistle seed ......one then two now three appear there. They share so well and make a sweet sound. The beautiful yellow color awakens the eyes. Then a loud buzzing hummingbird swoops in from nowhere.....buzz here buzzz there....looking for the sweet nectar. finding his focal point he hoovers and sips the sweet red concoction supplied.

Oh there goes a lil bunny, must be one of this years offspring. Oh no lil fella not into my garden...shooo.....go the other way. That lettuce is for us.....lol. This squirrel sure does want some of the bird feed. He thinks he is so clever. He knows he cannot climb the shepherds hook, and he cant jump to it from the porch railing. He has tried it. So now he thinks if he climbs that tree just beyond he can reach it from there. Up he scurries.....and steps out on several branches......shoot still cant reach......up to the next one....nope not here either.......then he has gone to far up......running back down and reaching the ground he looks up in confusion.......huh...how can I get some of that seed.
Well thanks to the aid of one lil miss Cardinal....his wish was met. She graciously flings out the seed she doesn't want and keeps the sunflower seeds. Lil mr Squirrel is only to happy to clean up the mess on the ground she left behind...

Oh listen to that would ya....momma blue bird is back and the sweet lil ones know its time to eat......chirp chirp chirp......

There are many more bird stories to tell and much more life to observe.
Thank You God for the vision, and thank ya'll .......for the chance to share it with others.

Have a blessed day.........and take time to stop and smell the roses and watch the birds.....You will be glad you did.
