I took Levaquin 2 years ago and was never told that it could possibly cause tendon rupture. Later I learned that it was because this usually only occurred in individuals over 60-I didn't fit that description, so I wasn't warned.
I didn't rupture my tendon, but I sprained it--it still hurts. My other tendons are still tight--I injured the one in my right elbow a year later, and it aches daily. In addition, the levaquin worsened the existing neuropathy in my feet.
They really need to issue severe warnings on this class of antibiotics when they are prescribed. Patients have a right to know the danger they face when they ingest a medication.
I hope you are able to find relief.
