First, get the are treated by yourself gently with different textures do surfaces and devices like feathers,rolling marbles , stretching small rubber bands ,a hair brush ,get desensitizing the area and after you will eventually able to give you or receive gentle massages for few minutes ,soon you will be able to resume and get more mobility and able to have more movement and less pain.
Takes a while but it's able , I was in an ankle brace for more than a year and took me a while to be able to regain movement and walk again with at least tennis shoes , it's hurtful but you will regain mobility ,try little by little ,be patient and soon you will get much better, hope it works and help you.
