Just chew it up and swallow with a little water, on an empty stomach...no food after for at least an hour.
Sublinguals are not really absorbed that way, but dissolved in the saliva instead, and swallowed. Presence of food then impairs the passive absorption that occurs in the small intestine.
Manufacturers still provide the sublingual form, but that is only a historical situation. And if the label says to take with food, ignore that, too.
