Default Richard Cohen's Stem Cell therapy

Hi! If I am correct, and in rewatching the Dr. Oz airing on December 12, 2013 of his interview with Richard Cohen and his wife Meredith, I believe Mr. Cohen is undergoing a slightly different stem cell therapy being done in New York City by Dr. Saud Sadiq. Mr. Cohen's therapy is the extraction of bone marrow from the sternum in the chest and then after processing those cells, they are reinjected back into his spinal fluid. I don't believe this process involves chemotherapy to wipe out the immune system. I could be wrong and if I am, I apologize for the misinformation. I think I may be correct, however, because I tried to get my sister, who suffers from MS, into the same clinical trial for the sole reason that it didn't include chemotherapy and all the goes with that process (i.e., hair loss, and all the "fun" things that go hand in hand with chemo).

I think the stem cell therapy being done at Northwestern University in Chicago by Dr. Richard Burt (HCTS) does include several rounds of chemo to completely shut down the immune system so that it can be "restarted" with the injection of the stem cells previously harvested from the body. It sounds like this particular stem cell therapy may be much harsher on the body. However, it does seems to have many documented success stories of riding the body of MS.

Again, I apologize if I have my "facts" incorrect. I'm trying to help my sister decide which procedure to pursue as she is getting worse every day. It just breaks my heart to see how many people suffer from this monster! I do believe, however, that one day stem cell therapy just may be the answer! Blessings to All!
