Ron, You can do whatever you choose to do, but you should be aware that statins can cause a myasthenic crisis.

Is there a reason why you were put on one? Was it a GOOD reason?

You might not know right away that the statin is destroying your nerves. They can cause "wild type neurons" which might not revert to normal!!! Correct, Mrs. D?

If it's a cholesterol issue, there are far better ways to deal with that. How high is yours?

I'm a bit cynical when it comes to drug companies. Their first order of business is selling drugs.

There are risks for people who don't have MG and take them. I don't know of any neuro who would want their MG patient to risk taking a statin.

That's my opinion, and you can do whatever you want to do. But be on the lookout for any sudden weakness or other peripheral nerve symptoms!
