It does? I found a similar citation from Thoreau's
Walden (which I had to look up), but the lines are not identical:
Roger Waters: "
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way"
Henry David Thoreau: "
The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation."
I also found an essay comparing the social views of the two, but nothing to indicate Waters was referencing Thoreau?
