Mark is right...(actually about everything and certainly much, much more than me inflammation will not show up on an MRI.

For quite a long time after my concussion I'd feel an intense pressure in/on top of my head, remember lying in the ER and it felt like my brain was swelling more and more.

Mine was early last year and still feel it at times.

Never have got a definite answer as to why from any Dr.
