initial injury
In college (Feb 1997), I was getting ready for the day and was trying to find a sweater in my closet. I had a goofy huge closet on the third floor of an old mansion, and it had a very low door frame (actually there was no door, just a door opening that was not much higher than my height of 5'5").
Like a moron, I kneeled down to gather momentum (I was going to jump up as hard as i could to try and see a sweater on an upper shelf in the closet). So I jumped and BAM! my head slammed (hard) on the top of the door frame. Don't know how much force that would have been, i am not a physics person.
Anyway, immediately saw stars and went to bed. Never sought medical attention, had no clue about head injuries but I just assumed it would be fine.
Felt nauseated for a week (no vomitting), and had a bruise and much tenderness over the area. No cognitive impairment or neurological symptoms. Did develop migraines at the site of injury, but they were manageable (monthly or less).
