neuro chiropracter / Dr Carrick
Hi all,
For those interested, just saw the neuro chiropracter in my town for the first time today. He was trained by Dr. Carrick. He did a bunch of the same evaluation things (reflexes, eyes, etc) that the neurologist did and a few more. Ultimately he sent me away with some bi-color glasses (picture austin powers), some instructions to wear them indoors plus do some finger-following w/ my eyes while wearing them. And gave me some herbs/amino acide supplement called Neuro-PTX k-47.
The exercises are supposed to decrease my sensitivity to light & noise...and (i'm assuming) thereby quiet that area of my brain so i don't get so worn out and can handle more stimuli. It's gonna be awful hard for me to tell you whether this treatment is effective unless there is a very quick increase in my recovery rate. I wish someone would fund some well-designed studies on these practices...maybe the NFL?
I'll keep ya posted. Doubt this stuff will hurt, and, like acupuncture, a big part of it is someone holding your hand through the process and telling you you're doing great and will get better.
