I am happy for you that you were able to quit, but I do want to warn that quitting Xanax cold turkey can be extremely dangerous. It's not just a will power thing. The way the drug works with the brain can cause serious withdrawals, including seizures and even death.
I was on Xanax for about five years for PTSD and Anxiety Disorder. I ran out of my script on a weekend (should have called my doctor's emergency number, but didn't) and it was a living scary hell.
I have since switched over to Valium and it's a much smoother longer lasting treatment without the rough quick drops when it wears off. I have a huge respect for this class of drugs because of the addiction factor and the severity of withdrawal symptoms, therefore I am very cautious of using the medication exactly as prescribed.
With that being said, good for you!
