There is a term used in marketing called "top of the mind awareness". It means that the position for any business, or anything anyone wants a person to remember is on everyones mind. But not just on their mind, in the top things on their mind.
With Paula Abudul and RSD it is just that, except there is one more value in this problem, and it is called "perceived value". It seems everyones perception is that (Paula Abudul + RSD = Negative top of the mind awarness).
That maybe so, but if you compare it to say Paris Hilton our perception of the value may change. They say Paris Hilton is now more famous from the negative then she was before the negative publicity.
I think that is the way Paula Abdul will effect the publicity of RSD. Any publicity is good publicity when it causes top of the mind awareness.
Now that RSD is out of the bag, and on top of everyones mind, it is time to use the publicity we are getting to get the word out. Hopefully the hype wont die off too quickly which would cause Rsd to fall from top of the mind awareness.
