Your white blood cells (WBC) are made up of different types: neutrophils, lymphocytes, eosinophils, monocytes and basophils. Knowing which types are elevated can sometimes help isolate the cause. Have there been any symptoms or signs of inter-current infection? What medication are you taking? Have there been night sweats or fever? Recent foreign travel? General feeling of unwellness? Would like to help but need more information. Acute stress can cause a transient rise in WBC but this would eventually fall back into a normal range.
