I never had nerve pain, until two years ago after some dental work left me a mess. Afterwards, I was dx'd with Atypical Trigeminal Neuralgia.

Driving on road trips...anything over about thirty minutes is very hard for me.

I can be absolutely fine and then I'm just NOT.

I have Percocet for breakthrough pain. A trip usually means that I'll have to take the Percocet for at least a day, usually two.

I was hoping flying in a plane would be easier. I haven't flown since the satanic dental work. It's been about two years. Now, I'm wondering....Geez.

But, I'm fortunate that my regular meds usually put me in a decent place, so the added Percocet often works. I have had flairs where it hasn't though. Sigh. (I try to concentrate on the fact that I usually can get out of a flare with the Percocet and that is a huge blessing. I hesitate to use it, but I'm fortunate that I have some available to me for emergencies and that it usually works).

I also have some neuropathy in my feet. My right foot is easily treated with OTC Capsaicin cream. It is so weird, I just have to use this stuff once in a while. So, that's a blessing.

My left foot, I've gotten three different dx's...including one neuropathy dx. My left foot is stubborn...whatever is wrong with it. It feels little tingling that hurts. Does this sound like neuropathy?

One doctor made me a compounded cream with something like five different things in it. Well, I hesitated to get the cream, but relented. It has Verapamil, Lidocaine, a muscle relaxer, capsaicin and an anti-inflammatory. Dont' remember all the names. I guess everything is covered. Voila! It works. This foot is now much better as well.

I don't know exactly what's wrong with me...but this nerve stuff is horrid business!!
