Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forums and am dealing with idiopathic small fiber neuropathy. I'm also 52 years old, and am just now experiencing signs of menopause. I should also mention that I was on the BCP for 22 years and went off of it in October. The craziness started in November.

I started taking a estardiol/progestin combo in February which immediately knocked out some horrible heart palpitations I was having (1300 PVCs in 24 hours!), but it did nothing for my neuropathic symptoms.

An alt med doc had me do a hormonal saliva test which showed no obvious problems other than elevated cortisol, but I've also read that the saliva tests aren't terribly useful.

I have m annual gyn appt in a couple of weeks, and would like to know what I can ask. Before you get bio-identicals, do they run tests I assume? If so, what kind?

Thanks for any thoughts.

Janie
