The doctor I use is an integrative MD also. Most GYN's prescribe synthetic hormones. At least mine did. She gave me estring. It is estrogen in an inertial ring.

If you go on line and research bio identical hormones you will find a lot of information. Also, I was able to find books on it in the local library.

My doctor had me get blood work before she prescribed anything.
