Hi, Tigerbear! Welcome.
Don't be scared! Or at least try not to be.
Yes, LEMS does come with a caner risk, but if you have cancer and it's caught early, the remission rate is high.
It sounds as though you have a doctor who was smart enough to order those tests, so that's good. MG and LEMS can be managed with meds, etc., so that's good, too.
It sucks to be staring down another disease, but it's best to know what you're dealing with. How can you "beat it" otherwise?
You might want to ask your internist to also do other basic testing such as thyroid, B12, Vit. D, erythrocyte sedimentation rate or C-reactive protein, or a metabolic panel. Since you already have more than one thing going on, they shouldn't assume that new symptoms relate to any other condition.
I hope your appointment goes well! Make sure that you have all of your questions answered, or make another appt. to have them answered! You might think up more
after your appt. tomorrow.
Hang in there. There are other people here who have LEMS, so that will be a big help if you have it. It might be something else, given that you're experiencing pain. MG and LEMS usually aren't associated with pain. We can have secondary pain from weak muscles cramping up, etc., though.
Let us know how it goes! Good luck tomorrow!
Annie
