Default Central Pontine Myelinolysis

Hi,

My father suffered from low Sodium levels thus leading to Hyponatremia with blood Sodium levels of 97 mmol/ L. As a treatment, he was injected with sodium for gradual recovery of sodium levels over 3 days. I am not sure if the doctors were wary of Myelinolysis due to rapid injection of sodium.

After 2-3 days his condition was symptomatic of Central Pontine Myelinolysis (CPM) with reduced motor responses, dysphagia, and trouble in breathing. Doctors then performed MRI and identified hyperintensity in T2. Later on they injected steroids and prescribed special diets to repair the concerned pontine region.

Can you please suggest some treatment for rapid correction of this syndrome.

Thanks
