As for slippers that you can wear like shoes. I gave my mom a pair of Uggs slippers that she wears out into the world like shoes. (mostly because she forgets to change shoes). I got her the ones that have soles to hopefully reduce the chance that she'd slip while wearing them.

My grandmother made me a pair of these knitted shlippers. They were nice but really hard to walk in. This was years ago before I had MS.

I need something with a more substantial sole to it but not as thick or hard as a regular shoe.

I think my problem is just the off balance feeling I get when I have pretty much anything on my feet except socks. Well, that and the unfamiliar feel of walking outside and not on the flat wood floors inside my house.

I looked at the Ugg shoes and I would probably break my silly neck if I tried to walk in those!
