Hello,
My name is Dahlia. I'm 33 y-o, and have been diagnosed with neurological Wilson's disease, it is a genetic disorder which makes the liver unable to excrete copper (which is found in all food and water). Copper is a vital mineral that performs various functions in the body but our bodies only require a certain amount and the liver discards the rest. In my case my liver stored it in my body until it became toxic and attacked my central nervous system. My brain and spinal cord were damaged due to excess copper- as a result, I cannot talk and couldn't walk for 10 years. Today I use a walker to walk.
I am not sad about it... I was in the beginning but I now see my illness as a gift. It allows me to connect with other people and share my experiences on my blog in the hope that it will help other people with neurological disorders.
I was just wondering if Neurotalk had a group on Facebook to better interact and get to know each other

?
