baba222, Exercise helping with pain is well-documented. That is one thing they suggested I do when I visited Mayo in '07.

I walk on a treadmill, doesn't seem to bother my feet. This will increase blood and lymph flow in the legs and feet, which is always good. I also do push-ups, sit-ups, leg lifts, lift dumbbells (from Academy), stretch a large rubber band (like used for Pilates I think), and swim sometimes. Beware that swimming puts very little stress on your bones so does not keep them strong.

Some things that make exercise more tolerable for me are watching youtube videos while I exercise (usually about health), eating a yogurt (usually almond) when I am done, and remembering that the exercise is improving my health.
