Thanks to all who replied so far about diet and SFN. I have been wondering whether I could also have fibro with the SFN. Have an appt. with my specialist on Tuesday and will speak with her about that possibility. But having said all that, in researching fibro a while ago, many of the foods mentioned in the previous threads are foods that also bring on fibro attacks. Nightshade foods are often triggers, as is sugar and sugared products and many others. Some drs are considering that fibro might be a nerve disease as opposed to a muscle disease. And if that is true, then the foods that affect people with fibro, might also affect people with SFN/neuropathies. So I find it very interesting that all the foods mentioned here also affect people with fibro.

I am beginning to understand that if I am to do everything I can for myself to help alleviate my pain outside of, but still including meds, then I must take my diet more seriously. I love my half and half with coffee and sugar and adore carbs. I also know there are ways to eliminate these things, and others, from my diet without much suffering (maybe a few tears). So, I am encouraged by everything you all have said. I now need the gumption to get started. It would be great if some of you who have not tried eliminating some of the worst foods first, will give it a go...at least for a week or so...and then report back to see how we have all done. thanks again.
