My understanding is that it is highly individual. It depends on
how quickly you were treated, and if treated at all with IVIG?

Some people heal quickly and others not so quickly.

If you do not eat a diet that contains the nutrients for nerve cell repair, that repair will not take place well or properly.

Myelin is repaired with Omega-3 fatty acids, B12, folate and B6.
Any upset with these nutrients may result in poor healing.

A friend of mine had GBS several years ago, and was given plasmapharesis. During her rehab there were patients who were not recovering. It took her several months to walk well again, and a full year to get some stamina back. She was paralyzed from the neck down, but could still breathe on her own.
