I did use an external keyboard for a while, while putting it off getting fixed...lol but I also had a jammed key, and couldn't type anything in the end, also it was overheating an clogged, but all is working fine now.

You know you can get a cheap keyboard and plug it into your
laptop directly. Gotta make sure it is the right plug... old laptops took round connectors but now they are mostly USB.
