When you hit "quote" the quote appears with brackets around it.
[quote] is the first thing you see.
Place your cursor in front of the [ bracket and hit enter a couple of times. The quote will then move down and you can put your cursor back up and type above it.
The same for if you want to type below it.
Place the cursor after the ] in and hit enter a couple of times and your text will appear below it.
Hit plain old reply in the lower left and no quote will appear.
If you want to quote someone, go to their post in the thread and hit "quote" not Q-reply. Then that quote will appear in the new text box. Q-reply only quotes the immediate post above you.
