aneczka,

So the symptoms have been present for a long time. Would you say the timing of the symptoms was around the time just before or sometime after those teeth were root canaled?

There is a blood test that can test your reactions to dental materials. Here are two links to those tests:
http://www.biocomplaboratories.com/index.html
http://www.ccrlab.com/

But like I said, whether or not you are sensitive to the metals, is only a small part of the whole problem as the ill health of those teeth are the main problem.

Unfortunately the only option to remove the source of the problem is to remove the teeth. Because the root canals were done so long ago, it may not be possible to also remove the residual bacteria in the surrounding bone as that has been growing there for years and it may not be able to be seen clinically or radio graphically as it hides in the nooks an crannies of bone. So you may be left with the same or similar symptoms that you currently have. The difference would be that the source of the problem would be gone which gives your immune system the opportunity to heal the wounds and possibly the bone completely as well. It is inevitable that those teeth are going to be extracted at some point. The longer you keep them, the more the bacteria spreads. So that is something you need to keep in mind.

Chances are you are not going to get this same information from your dentist unless he is a Biological dentist who understands this aspect of dentistry.

Replacement options, should you extract them, are limited because of the longevity of those root canaled teeth. The bone needs to be very healthy to receive a dental implant without complications. Generally the bone surrounding older root canaled teeth is not healthy enough for implants.

I don't know what the rest of your mouth looks like as to what other teeth you are missing so I don't know if you would be a candidate for a longer bridge or a removable partial denture.

I know this information is not what you had hoped to hear. I am sorry if your dentists have not informed you of any of this prior to your consent to do the dentistry.

To learn more.... google Dr Mercola and root canals. Or you could search for a biological dentist..

My symptoms resemble a peripheral neuropathy. Done all checks years ago, nothing conclusive was found. Need to re-check now, because it is obviously worsening.

I DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN BY SEMI IMPLANT. WHAT YOU HAVE DESCRIBED IS A "POST" NOT AN IMPLANT.

This was what I meant.

TITANIUM LIKE ANY OTHER METAL OR DENTAL MATERIAL CAN HAVE SOME ADVERSE AFFECTS ON SOME PEOPLE IF THEY ARE SENSITIVE OR ALLERGIC TO THAT PARTICULAR MATERIAL.

Is there an easy way to find out if it is any metal poisoning? I would think there must be some blood test to find out?

UNFORTUNATELY, THE ONLY WAY TO RID YOURSELF OF THE INFLAMMATION AND INFECTION IS TO REMOVE THE SOURCE OF THOSE ISSUES WHICH ARE THE ROOT CANALED TEETH.

Would you suggest to get them removed? If so, what would you put in their place?
